Last week, national media reported that the Healthwatch network in England are set to close, including Healthwatch Derbyshire. Our Chief Executive, Helen Henderson, has shared a response to this unexpected announcement. Between October and December 2025, we spoke to people across Derby City and Derbyshire about smoking, quitting, and awareness of local stop smoking support. The findings are being used to improve services and shape future stop smoking messaging.

Between June - August 2025, people working in routine and manual jobs across Derbyshire shared their views on smoking, quitting, and local stop smoking services. Many wanted to quit for health and financial reasons but faced barriers like lack of awareness, cost, and shift work. We completed this project to help Diva Creative to shape upcoming messaging and to improve stop smoking support in Derbyshire.‍
