Have Your Say: Survey for Professional Home Care Workers

We know how important professional home care workers are in keeping people safe and well in their own homes. Every day, their dedication and hard work makes a difference to individuals and families across our county.

Who are professional home care workers? 

Professional home care workers are paid professionals who support people in their own homes, helping them live safely and comfortably. Their work can include personal care, practical help, companionship, and assistance with medication. They play a vital role in supporting people to remain independent in their own communities. They're different to unpaid or family carers - they're paid by care providers to do their role.

Why are we doing this project? 

We’ve launched a new project in partnership with Derbyshire County Council’s Public Health team, to make sure professional home care workers’ voices are heard.

We’ve created a short, anonymous survey to gather views on infection prevention and flu vaccinations. The feedback we collect will help shape the future support offered to the home care workforce in Derbyshire.

Why this matters

Professional home care staff are on the frontline, providing essential care and support to people in their own homes. Listening to their experiences and priorities is vital in making sure the right guidance, training, and resources are in place.

By taking part, professional home care workers will:

• Have the opportunity to share what really matters to them
• Help influence future support for their job role
• Show the value of their expertise and lived experience
• Help us to let care providers know what support would benefit their staff teams
• By sharing their views they'll be letting us know what would make their job better, which benefits the people they support.
