Mental Health Together are partnering with Living Well to make sure that people with experience of mental health services are central to this big change in mental health services. We support people, in whatever way they need, to make sure they can influence the future Living Well service in their area.
In Derby city the Living Well service is called ‘Derby Wellbeing’ but it is the same service model.
Collaboratives are the spaces where the design and development work for mental health services takes place. Experts sit alongside voluntary sector, NHS and social care workers to have a say in how these services take shape. This is a paid opportunity for Experts.
We listen to different communities’ needs in relation to the new service. We highlight these needs and encourage a wide range of people to have their say. One of the ways we do this is by supporting lived experience forums where people have a voice.
We gather feedback from the first few clients in each area, who have used the new service. This helps the new service to learn from this feedback. We then let clients know how their feedback has made a difference.
We champion the voices of lived experience in every aspect of this change. We also highlight any barriers to involvement that people may face, and produce tools to educate and inspire, like our Good Practice Guide.
Living Well is currently being rolled out in the Derbyshire Dales, High Peak, Chesterfield, and North East Derbyshire and Bolsover. In Derby city the service is called ‘Derby Wellbeing’ instead of ‘Living Well’ but it is the same service model.
During 2023/24 the Living Well Derbyshire service will also be launched in the following areas:
- Amber Valley
- South Derbyshire
